Thank you Mitch Albom for putting in to words, what I , as a loyal Tiger fan feel about Pudge.
I have had season tickets for a while. And even before then, I managed to make it to at least 10 games a season. There were games where you could almost count each and every person at the ballpark. Day games and night games where you felt that there were more people crossing to the bridge and tunnel to go the Windsor Casino than going to the ballpark.
Yes, I was totally surprised that they traded Pudge. But not really surprised that he is gone. He was at the end of his contract, he was probably not going to sign here again (mostly for financial reasons, but probably wanted to be closer to his home in Florida), and truthfully, he was not playing everyday, either because he could not physically do it, or because he was not hitting as well. Either way, he was not destined to retire as a Tiger. He was and always will be the reason that this team turned around. The reason people started showing up at the ballpark. (BTW, I can't call them fans because they only show up when the team is winning....)
I can't wait until Sept. 1st when the team returns. I will stand and applaud Pudge on his return to Detroit. He deserves it from the fans...he deserves it from the team...and he deserves it from the City.

DNA as art?
Saw this ad in a magazine. Looks cool and I would love to get a portrait...
Question though, do they screen the DNA to see if someone is a criminal/wanted felony/etc? Not that I am concerned about it for me, but I just wonder if they think of this and/or protect the person sending the DNA in?

A day of sadness...
Today made me think of this poem (many believe it to be written by Mary Frye):
- Do not stand at my grave and weep,
- I am not there, I do not sleep.
- I am in a thousand winds that blow,
- I am the softly falling snow.
- I am the gentle showers of rain,
- I am the fields of ripening grain.
- I am in the morning hush,
- I am in the graceful rush
- Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
- I am the starshine of the night.
- I am in the flowers that bloom,
- I am in a quiet room.
- I am in the birds that sing,
- I am in each lovely thing.
- Do not stand at my grave and cry,
- I am not there. I do not die.

Mongol
Please everyone go see this movie. It is so good...cinematography, acting, costumes...all excellent. It is the story of Genghis Khan and his "rise to power" as the leader of the Mongols. What an awesome story (and yes ladies, there is a love story woven in to it).
Let me know what you all think about it...I would love to know.

Interesting article
This link was on another blog that I read. I found the article completely interesting...but it makes me want to itch EVERY where...all the time...but I sure hope that I could stop short of what M. did.
